Terms and Conditions of Great Glen Yurts
It is our aim to make your visit to our yurts a wonderful experience that you will wish to repeat time and again. However we must ask that you read and accept the following terms and conditions which must be complied with by all persons visiting Torlundy Farm as a Great Glen Yurts guest. These enable us maintain our standards, to assist in proper management and ensure your safety as well as establishing a clear legal contract for cancellation, damage and exceptional circumstance.
Arrival: All Yurts are available from 3pm on day of arrival and must be left in a clean condition not later than 11am on departure dates.
Departure: On departure all yurts are to be left clean and tidy with the keys. All rubbish is to be disposed of responsibly in the bins at the end of the road.
Booking: When you make a booking and payment an email confirming the dates and times of your holiday is sent to you. Booking and payment is considered the establishment of a legal contract.
Cancellation by You: We understand that circumstances change and emergencies occur. If you are unable to come and have to cancel we do our best to let your holiday from our cancellations list. If we can re-let your holiday we will refund your payment less 25% administration charge.
Cancellation by Us: Extreme Conditions: Great Glen Yurts reserve the right to cancel a holiday in light of extreme conditions of: weather, terrorism or war. In any of these very unlikely circumstances we will try to find an alternative for you or your full Payment will be returned to you. Emergency Contingency: Great Glen Yurts reserve the right to cancel a holiday at short notice if for unforeseeable circumstances we are unable to provide safe accommodation in a yurt due to extreme conditions, ill health, fire or administration or any other extenuating circumstance. Under such unlikely circumstances your full payment will be returned. Great Glen Yurts cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss caused by cancellation.
Breakages and Damage: If on your arrival you find any items or fittings, utensils, crockery or cutlery is broken, damaged or missing, please report it to Julie or Sophie on the phone numbers given and it will be replaced. We do accept a degree of wear and tear but should any significant damage or breakage occur during the period of your stay you will be held responsible for and must make good to the lowest market value. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a yurt has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc.
Individual Yurt: The yurt allocated to you on confirmation of your booking is provisional and we reserve the right to alter this to an equally suitable yurt on arrival if necessary. All yurts are identical except for colour and position in the field.
Children: The site is an amazing place for children to play but you are responsible for them at all times. If you are concerned about them being around a wood burning stove then ask for a wrap around fire guard. Great Glen Yurts accept no responsibility for injury incurred on site.
Pets: Only one pet is allowed per yurt. No pets are allowed unless confirmed on booking. You must follow the following rules. 1. Pet owners clean up after their pet and dispose of appropriately. 2. Pets are kept on a lead/tether whilst around Torlundy Farm as there are grazing sheep & other wildlife on site. (They can exercise off the lead in the wood behind the yurts across the stream) 3. Torlundy Farm management has the right to ask any pet owner to leave if these 2 wishes are not respected. 4. Bring your own duvet cover to put over our own. They are not allowed on the beds. 5. Cleaning of pets feet on entering the yurt. 6. Removal of any malted fur or feathers.
Terrain: Great Glen Yurts are based on a working farm with farm machinery around. Great Glen Yurts accept no responsibility for injury incurred on site.
Climate: Great Glen Yurts is located in an area of high rainfall and high winds are also possible. The yurts are made from natural breathable material and occasionally may leak, we will do everything we can do ensure a fully dry yurt, but a harmless leak or two is all part of the Highland camping experience!
Peace and Tranquillity: Anyone committing a nuisance contrary to the peace of Torlundy Farm will be asked to leave immediately and without a refund.
Maximum Occupants: Under no circumstances may the maximum number of 6 people & pets sleeping in each yurt be exceeded.
Negligence: Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.
Facilities: Great Glen Yurts provide the wood and gas needed for your booked stay as well as use of the Great Glen Yurts toilet, shower and kitchen area. Please note: These facilities are for booked Great Glen Yurts guests only and must be left in the manner in which you would like to receive them.
Keys: Keys to the yurt should be left in the yurt on departure. Any lost or unreturned keys will be charged at £10.00 for replacement cost.
Stolen Property: Great Glen Yurts cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. Padlocks are provided but you are advised to bring your own for valuables or keep them in your car. That said, this is an incredibly safe area and we have never had had any petty theft on the farm, nor have our guests.
No Smoking Policy: All Great Glen Yurts hold a strict NO SMOKING POLICY smoking in any of our yurts will result in a fine of up to £100. Anyone who smokes outside of the yurts is responsible for disposing of their cigarette butts in a bin and not littering the surrounding area of the yurt.
Wildlife: There can be a lot of local of wildlife around. Check before sitting down in the grass. Bring insect repellent in the summer months for the midges. Ticks are present in bracken and undergrowth. Do not remove unless competent to do so but seek medical advice. The nearest Health Centre is Glenmore Health Centre, 1.5miles towards Fort William, turn right at the Road to Isles BP petrol station, then first right past the High School. Great Glen Yurts accept no responsibility for injury by wildlife incurred on site.
Parental Supervision: Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site.
Hunting and Fireworks: No firearms, hunting paraphernalia or fireworks are permitted in the Yurts or on Torlundy Farm
No Fire Policy: Fires are restricted strictly to the wood burning stoves, fire pit and brazier only. No open fires are allowed.
Yurt Structure: It is prohibited to interfere or adapt the structure of the yurt in any way.
Unloading: Please leave your car in the car park and use the wheelbarrow to unload, unless you have a very large load when you may take one journey into the field to drop off, then keep the car in the car park.
Age Policy: We do not accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18.
